Leaky Gut Syndrome

During Medication 2006

My son was diagnosed with an auto-immune disease called Juvinile rheumatoid Arthritis (JRA). Another name for this disease is Juvinile ideophatic Arthritis because the cause is unknown. We hop from one hospital to another hoping we could find a better doctor. My son had suffered for 2 years undergoing treatment in 7 hospitals and clinics in the Philippines, Japan and Korea, from Allopathic medicine, to a spiritualist, to eastern (Chinese) to homeopathy. We went through hell in those times, My heart sunk when I fetch my son in the airport after spending 4 months in japanese hospital. He looked very different that I almost could not recognize him. he gained so much weight (45 kilos at the age of 6) from taking steroids to suppress fever. While in Korea, we were told that the cause of his problem is his stomach, that his gut is where the problem of high fever and joint pain is coming from. For me it was a puzzling disease until I learned about Leaky gut syndrome.

According to Dr Zoltan P., Rona, the leaky gut syndrome is the name given to a very common health disorder in which the basic organic defect (lesion) is an intestinal lining which is more permeable (porous) than normal. The abnormally large spaces present between the cells of the gut wall allow the entry of toxic material into the bloodstream that would, in healthier circumstances, be repelled and eliminated.
The gut becomes leaky in the sense that bacteria, fungi, parasites and their toxins, undigested protein, fat and waste normally not absorbed into the bloodstream in the healthy state, pass through a damaged, hyperpermeable, porous or "leaky" gut. This can be verified by special gut permeability urine tests, microscopic examination of the lining of the intestinal wall as well as the bloodstream with phase contrast or darkfield microscopy of living whole blood.
