Oriental Medicine

It 's been a long time since I last wrote...it was due to busy schedule and hassles in life, but good to be back. This time as a new convert to an old or I say a very old form of medical paradigm, the Oriental Medicine. These days it can be called as Alternative Medicine, even it existed 3,000 years ago in Korea (Not in China as many believed). It was considered as alternative because the most popular practice of medicine today is the western medicine.

How I was converted then? I think there is in me, deep in me the desire of knowing acupuncture. though of course when talking about Oriental medicine one should include Moksa, Cupping and Herbal procedures. Acupuncture has been mysterious and awesome practice of medicine for me. though it was a long time desire, it did not come to mind that someday I will be one of the students who will undergo such discipline. It come to me like a thief in the night when one of my colleagues got cured after suffering from psoriasis for 20 years.

I am studying under the guidance of a Korean doctor who has been a doctor of some dignitaries in his country. He is now 85 years old and had been a doctor since the 60's. What is interesting about him is that he was born in a place in North Korea where acupuncture started. 3,000 years ago.

In 1929, they unearth stone needle and fish bone needles as evidence that acupuncture has been practiced in Korea even during the stone age. it was brought later in China after few hundred of years. In China they were able to make records
about acupuncture and this was I think was the reason why many thought Acupuncture started from there.

I wish myself good luck...I want to share my experiences and knowledge later, hoping to help people to understand this old but but effective medical practice.
